During this time, over a period of nine months two maneless lions nicknamed “The Ghost” and “The Darkness” snuck into railway workers tents at night, dragging them away and eating them. The attacks continued to happen despite armed men, set traps and fortified camps with walls of thorns. Reports stated 135 men were killed.
